The Expertise and Drive Behind KS Detailing

Kevin Sterling found his passion for detailing in college, spent years developing his craft as head detailer at a high-end shop in Queens, and built KS Detailing into one of the most respected small shops on Long Island.

Today, every vehicle that comes through our Floral Park, NY facility is vorked on personally by Kevin, backed by over 20 years of hands-on experience and certifications from CarPro and STEK.

From Queens to Long Island

Kevin spent several years as the head detailer at a shop in Queens, NY, developing his skills in high-end paint correction and ceramic coating installations. In 2015, he made the move to open his own business, connecting with a local car shop in Westbury, NY, to rent two detailing bays and begin building KS Detailing from the ground up. His first accounts included detailing for high-end classic and exotic car dealerships, a strong foundation for a business built on precision.


Also in 2015, Kevin was approved as a CarPro Quartz Finest installer, a distinction given to fewer than 1% of detailers worldwide. KS Detailing has used CarPro approved products exclusively ever since. In 2018, the shop was authorized to offer STEK paint protection film, adding a full range of PPF installation capabilities to its service offering.

A Growing Facility, A Consistent Standard

In 2018, Kevin outgrew the shared space in Westbury and opened his own facility in New Hyde Park, NY. In 2024, the shop relocated to its current home at 329 Jericho Turnpike in Floral Park, NY, a dedicated facility built for the level of work KS Detailing delivers. In 2026, KS Detailing was awarded the Solo Titan award by CarPro, a recognition of one of the best small shops within the CarPro network.

Detailing is not just a profession for Kevin Sterling. It is a passion and a lifestyle. He attends hands-on training courses regularly, stays current with evolving products and techniques, and brings the same standard of care to an entry-level decontamination detail that he brings to a Level 4 paint correction. Every vehicle that comes into KS Detailing is treated as its own project, and every result is held to the same high bar. When you work with KS Detailing, you work directly with Kevin.
